More tips:

  • The closest I could find on Amazon to the watercolour set I use is the Sakura brand of Koi Assorted WaterColours Field Set.
  • Just use any old toothbrush. I used to use the ones that my dentist would give me after a visit, just because those were kind of cheap and I wouldn’t actually use them anyways.
  • I use acrylic for flicking and highlights because watercolour-whites tend to fade when they dry.
  • Also, remember to keep your hands clean, because nothing’s worse than smudging graphite into your watercolours and then unable to get it out.
  • Try to avoid black and white when possible. They tend to dull the colours and it loses that watercolouring lustre.

Since I started watercolouring again for my daily sketches, I’ve gotten a lot of asks/dA notes on if I could give a tutorial on watercolouring and also more specific questions that overlapped each other, so I decided to do a semi guide/tips/answering thing.

I actually started watercolouring before I went into digital medium, so I have a bit of personal experience, but I am essentially self-taught when it comes to watercolouring since there weren’t a lot of watercolour tutorials online back then to begin with, so I cannot promise that these are the absolute correct way of doing things.

Hope it helps anyways :)

if you follow the paintbrush with your eyes while not moving your head, it forces you to use emdr which is a therapeutic technique to calm anxiety/panic. watching fish swim causes the same effect.

Doodle On The Moon | Mr Printables

I know this is meant to be a download for a child to draw on (awesome) but wouldn’t this also be an amazing piece of art!? Pin it up on a wall or on your ceiling - so fun!

Replacing the battery in a Pokémon Gold cartridge. Mine died because these batteries are only built to last a little while, and after it dies, it prevents you from saving your game. It’s easy if you know what you’re doing. If you guys need any help/advice on what you’ll need or where to get it or how to do it properly, please feel free to ask me! All you need is -
1. A CR2025 battery (most DIY stores will have them, I got mine for £3.95 from a place around the corner from where I live. Alternatively, Amazon sells them)
2. A screwdriver (it’s recommended to get the proper ‘gaming-screwdriver’ one to open the dodgy Nintendo-screws on the back of Gameboy colour carts, but I used tweezers to get the one on my cart off)
3. A precision head screwdriver (or something flat to prise off the soldered parts of the tabs from the dead battery WITHOUT breaking the tabs off the circuit board. I borrowed a screwdriver with a very thin head and it worked much better than anything else I tried)
4. Some tape to ensure that the new battery won’t be accidentally disconnected from the tabs. Unless you’re confident with a soldering iron, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND attempting to solder the tabs to the new battery. If the battery is punctured or it leaks, the whole circuit board will be ruined. (I used electrical tape, got it for £1.99 again from the DIY store. Amazon also sells it).
Hope this can help!
